This Ramadan Share & Care For The Needy

This Ramadan Share & Care with us.

As it’s , apart from fasting & then engorging into sumptuous Iftaar’s & Suhoor’s, it’s also time to make a difference in people’s lives with the little to the maximum that you can do.

Charity plays a vital role in helping live a good life. Some are fortunate enough to get & most fortunate enough are those who give.

This Ramadan, many organizations have come forward to make it, even more, easier to donate.  Here listed are a few ways to do good. Share with us if you come across more ways to do good and whether fasting or not do choose one of the below ways to do good.

a. Ramadan Initiative – Share your Blessings by Enoc

With Enoc sharing & caring is easier this season. When you make your next visit to the petrol/gas station, for every AED 15 Iftar Saa’em meal or AED 20 Zakat El Fitr you donate, Enoc will double your donation. Share your blessings with the less fortunate by sharing a joyful meal this Ramadan. Do Good & Donate.

c. Share a Touch of Love Initiative by Omo Arabia

In the spirit of Ramadan, Uber UAE, Omo Arabia & Emirates Red Crescent have teamed up to help you donate clothing to those in need.

All you need to do is to utilize the 2-3 hours you get an early off in cleaning out your closets and gather gently-used clothing you no longer need. You can request ‘UberOMO’ any weekday during Ramadan between 5pm10pm and they’ll collect your clothing donation for free and they will be donated to families in need.

You can also drop off your donation in person at collection points in Dubai. To make it easier, we’ll even cover 50% of your ride there and back on weekends during Ramadan when you enter code ‘UberOmoDXB’. Here are the locations in Dubai:

  • Mall of the Emirates
  • Mirdiff Mall
  • Bay Avenue Mall
  • Deira City Centre

You can also donate clothes at your nearest Choithrams stores.

d. Be Careem and support  UN Refugee Agency

You can book a car type during & will MATCH every single donation. Here’s how to do it.

 e. Ramadan Fridges

Like last year, community fridges around 100 in number, are installed all across the UAE. This initiative started last year with a single resident setting up a fridge and distributing food and drinks to those in need in her community. It has gained popularity and reached over 25,000 members.

This year, an app has been launched to locate these  ‘Ramadan Sharing Fridges‘, fridge managers can set up their own accounts and add the locations on the maps making it easier for people to find the Ramadan fridges to donate food & water for the needy.  So far, fridges have been scattered across Dubai from Garhoud, Mankhool to Marina, Springs, Meadows, The Lakes, JVC, Sports City, Arabian Ranches and Deira.

Launched in line with the ‘Year of Giving’ by the software development company Synergistics, the Community Fridge App will help individuals, organizations, and volunteers to stock the fridges to help the needy and reduce food waste. After downloading the app, users in 15 countries including the UAE, can view the locations of the fridges and select the closest one.

f. Stuff the BUS initiative by STS

This Ramadan, students and their parents are encouraged to ‘Stuff the Bus’ with school bags, lunch boxes, stationery sets and other educational materials to help less-privileged children who struggle to get their basic school needs.  These things are hard to buy when you are less fortunate. By putting school supplies in the hands of kids who need them, you are helping eliminate a huge barrier to their success.

The  ‘Stuff the Bus’ project is an initiative by School Transport Services (STS), one of the biggest private school bus operators in the UAE, and is being organized under the aegis of Emirates Red Crescent, in association with Aster Clinics and Bounce Inc.

A school bus provided by the STS will be parked outside schools from June 18-22 between 9 am and 11 am. Alternatively, donations can be dropped at the STS office anytime from 8am-12noon until June 22.

g. Filling the Blues by Moti Roti

Each year, Moti Roti teams up with other local restaurants to provide iftar to labourers working throughout Ramadan.

Every evening, workers, residents, and volunteers mingle together in the handing out of food, snacks, gifts, and sweets.

Love it when children get involved in #fillingtheblues The guys in blue love it too #mydubai #myramadan

h. Simply visit Construction areas

Just make some packed meal boxes or care packages for the construction workers and you can distribute this at the construction sites itself. One such construction site is Old Pakistani Consulate Area –

Be Good and be steadfast in prayer; practice regular charity; and bow down your heads with those who bow down in worship. — Quran
